About the Program
JV Colorguard is a fun, low-commitment way for middle school students (grades 6-8) to be part of the Milton Guard at pregame and in the stands during home football games. There is no band camp, no competitions, and no away games - just home game nights with the team!
On home game days, JV Colorguard members come over to the school right after school to get ready with the Colorguard. During the game they cheer in the stands with the guard, and they join the team for pregame and march-out at the end of the night.
The short version: Home games only. One practice each week (Mondays). Cheer in the stands, perform in pregame, and have a great time being part of the Eagles Guard.

Financial Commitment
JV Colorguard costs are mostly personal items the student keeps. There are no band camp fees and no costume maintenance fees. The total below covers everything for the season.

Spin With The Eagles
Spin With The Eagles is our annual fundraiser, held during the Homecoming game on Friday, October 16, 2026 (vs. Alpharetta). For JV Colorguard, participation is INCLUDED with registration - there's nothing extra to pay or sign up for!

Home Games
JV Colorguard performs at home games only. On game days, students come over right after school to get ready with the team. Below are the home games for the 2026 season (all Fridays, 7:30 pm kickoff).

After each home game, JV Colorguard members are dismissed from the flag pole.
Call time on game days is to be announced - students will be told when to report after school.
Practices
JV Colorguard practices once a week on Mondays. Members join the team on Monday, August 10 and Monday, August 17, ahead of the first home game on August 21.

Volunteering
We are looking for 1-2 chaperones for each of the 5 home games to help watch over the JV group. While we have plenty of chaperones for the high school band, the high school students follow their own procedures during games - so we want to be sure this group has dedicated adults available. If you're able to help with a game or two, we'd love to have you!
Attendance
Every member matters to the group. Please make every effort to attend Monday practices and home games. Look over the calendar at www.miltonband.org/calendar to spot conflicts early, and let Holly know in advance if your student will miss a game or practice.
