What is JV Colorguard?
The MS Spirit Guard is the middle school arm of the Milton High School colorguard program. It's open to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders at Northwestern and Elkins Pointe, and it's designed to be a low-pressure introduction to guard before kids get to high school.
The kids practice once a week on Mondays at Milton High School and perform at Milton home football games. They come out for pregame, then spend the game up in the stands with the band doing cheers and the fight song, and they finish out the night with the flag pole stomp in the fourth quarter.
Every MS member is paired with a high school buddy who checks in with them throughout game night and helps them get ready. There are always adults assigned to the group as well. The high school kids do the middle schoolers' hair and makeup before games, so there's nothing you need to know how to do at home.
Bonus: Participation in Spin with the Eagles — our big Homecoming fundraiser — is included with registration!
What does it cost?
The season is about $276, which covers the pregame outfit, shoes, backpack, sweatshirt, tank, and all home-game meals — plus Spin with the Eagles. Returning Winterguard members can reuse their shoes and backpack, which lowers the total.
